    About the role

Blue Goat Cyber is expanding, and we are looking for a Social Media Manager who can take genuinely technical work, medical device penetration testing, threat modeling, FDA submission support, and turn it into content that regulatory and engineering audiences respect.

This is not a role about posting motivational graphics. Our audience is device manufacturers, quality and regulatory leaders, and product security engineers. They can tell within a sentence whether the person writing understands the subject, and they leave when they decide the answer is no.

You will work directly with the CEO, our penetration testers, and our regulatory team, and you will have unusually good raw material to work with: conference talks, podcast episodes, award coverage, guides, and research the team publishes regularly. Your job is to make sure the right people see it and come back for more.

    You are a fit if

You can write for a technical audience

    • You can read a guide on FDA premarket cybersecurity expectations and pull the one idea worth posting about.
    • You write in a plain, direct voice with no hype and no filler.
    • You know the difference between a post that earns a comment from a regulatory director and a post that earns nothing.
    • You check facts before publishing, especially regulatory claims, and you ask when you are unsure.

You own the channels end to end

    • You plan, write, schedule, publish, and report without needing a queue built for you.
    • You treat LinkedIn as the primary channel because that is where our buyers are, and you know how to grow both a company page and an executive profile.
    • You can cut a long podcast episode or conference talk into clips that stand on their own.
    • You keep a calendar that other people can see and rely on.

    You work from evidence

    • You look at what actually performed, not what felt good to post.
    • You can connect social activity to site traffic, inbound conversations, and event registrations.
    • You run tests, keep what works, and drop what does not without ego about it.

You move fast and stay accurate

    • You can turn an award, a new guidance document, or a conference appearance into published content the same week.
    • You respect the confidentiality line: no client names, no device details, no findings, ever.
    • You bring ideas rather than waiting to be handed topics.

    What you will own

    Channel ownership

    • Own the content calendar and publishing across LinkedIn, YouTube, and our other official accounts.
    • Grow the company page and support the CEO's personal presence with drafted posts and clips.
    • Maintain a consistent voice across every channel and keep our official account list accurate.
    • Monitor comments and messages, respond, and route real inquiries to the right person quickly.

    Content production

    • Turn guides, blog posts, research, podcast episodes, and conference talks into short-form content.
    • Produce clips, graphics, and carousels that hold up next to what the audience already follows.
    • Cover conferences and speaking engagements live, including photos, clips, and recap posts.
    • Promote awards, press coverage, and new service launches without overselling them.

    Measurement and growth

    • Report monthly on reach, engagement, follower growth, site traffic from social, and inbound conversations.
    • Test formats, hooks, and posting patterns and document what you learn.
    • Work with business development so content supports events and active pipeline.
    • Watch what the rest of the industry publishes and find the gaps we can own.

    Required skills and experience

    • 3+ years running social media for a business, agency, or brand with a professional or technical audience.
    • Demonstrated growth of a LinkedIn company page or an executive personal brand, with examples you can walk us through.
    • Strong writing skills; short-form copy is most of this job.
    • Comfort editing video and producing clips, graphics, and carousels with common tools.
    • Ability to read technical or regulatory source material and summarize it accurately.
    • Experience reporting on performance and adjusting based on what the numbers say.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote, high-trust environment.

    Preferred experience

    • Medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or cybersecurity industry experience.
    • Experience supporting event and conference marketing, including live posting from a booth.
    • Podcast or video production experience.
    • Familiarity with paid social and how it works alongside organic.
    • Experience with employee advocacy or getting subject matter experts to post consistently.

    Your first 90 days

What success looks like early on, so you know what you are walking into.

    1. 1

      First 30 days

      • Learn the audience, the services, and the vocabulary well enough to write without supervision.
      • Audit every channel and tell us honestly what is working and what is not.
      • Publish your first month of content and set up the reporting we will use going forward.
    2. 2

      Days 30 to 60

      • Run the calendar independently, including the CEO's drafted posts.
      • Build a repeatable process for turning each podcast episode and guide into a set of posts.
      • Cover one event or launch end to end.
    3. 3

      Days 60 to 90

      • Show measurable growth in reach and in traffic arriving from social.
      • Propose the channel strategy for the next two quarters with a clear rationale.
      • Get at least two subject matter experts on the team posting consistently.

    Tools we use

    • LinkedIn
    • YouTube
    • HubSpot
    • Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud
    • Video editing tools such as Descript or Premiere
    • Google Analytics and Search Console
    • Google Workspace
    • Slack
    • Asana

    About Blue Goat Cyber

Blue Goat Cyber is a medical device cybersecurity company dedicated to protecting patient lives by securing the technologies that power modern healthcare. We support medical device manufacturers as they build, test, and launch secure devices that meet FDA expectations and operate safely in the real world.

We are a remote, high-trust, high-ownership team that values clear communication, rigorous thinking, proactive problem solving, continuous learning, and attention to critical details. We expect every team member to own their work, communicate clearly, and support the mission without ego.

    Before you apply

The terms every person here works under. Read them now rather than at offer stage, along with our core values and the honest list of who this is not for.

    Work authorization

    • You must be authorized to work in the United States. We do not sponsor visas for these roles.
    • All roles are performed from within the United States.

    Confidentiality and NDA

    • You will sign a mutual nondisclosure agreement before you see any client material, and client-specific NDAs where a client requires one.
    • You will see unreleased device designs, firmware, source code, vulnerabilities, and submission content. None of it is yours to discuss, publish, screenshot, or reference, during or after the engagement.
    • Client material stays in company systems. No personal cloud storage, personal email, personal repositories, or unvetted AI tools.
    • Anything we publish that draws on client work is anonymized and cleared with the client first.

How we expect you to use AI

    • Use AI every day if it helps, on the company ChatGPT and Claude accounts we provide, and keep client material inside them: firmware, source code, submission documents, findings, and client names never go anywhere else.
    • You own the accuracy of anything you send out, because models get recognition numbers, clause references, and test conclusions wrong in ways that read perfectly well. The full policy is in the careers FAQ.

    Security and background

    • Offers are contingent on a background check and on reference checks.
    • You will use company-required security controls on any device that touches client data, including full-disk encryption, screen lock, and our password manager and multi-factor authentication.
    • Report a suspected compromise or data exposure immediately. We treat honest, fast reporting as the right behavior, not a fault.
    • Some client engagements require additional screening or training before you can be assigned.

    Equal opportunity

    • Blue Goat Cyber is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
    • If you need an accommodation at any point in the hiring process, tell us and we will arrange it.

    Apply

Send your resume, any links to your work, and a short note about why this role fits. It takes a few minutes and a real person on our team reads every application.

If you do not hear back within two weeks, we have decided not to move forward for now. We keep applications on file for future openings.
